Music that keeps you moving

Down 40-some lbs on Ozempic here and the only thing that keeps my walks going is true crime podcasts - they get long fast so I always want one more episode. Music-wise, anything with a driving beat around 120 bpm works for me. What do you normally listen to?

My walking playlist is mostly old Philly soul and some drum-heavy stuff, the beat keeps my pace up even on days the scale isn't budging. Crime Junkie episodes work too when I want the walk to feel shorter than it is. Eight lbs down and still going here, good luck with the playlist.

Most of my 60-some pounds came off on long walks powered by true crime podcasts, honestly an episode is the only reason I hit 10k steps some days. Lately I've been mixing in 90s hip hop when I need a pace push. Curious what genre you lean toward.

Down 43 lbs and drum and bass got me through plenty of miles too - fast BPM stuff basically forces your feet to keep up. My other pick is dancehall or afrobeats playlists, hard not to move to those.

25 lbs down and my trick was audiobooks - only allowed myself to listen while walking, so I actually looked forward to it. For music I go with 2000s pop punk when I need the pace up. What's your usual taste, the recs get easier once I know that.

Down 54 lbs myself and I can vouch for the true crime trick - I started saving one episode per walk and only let myself listen while moving. For music I go with older drum and bass playlists when I want the pace up, the tempo kind of drags you along whether you feel like it or not.

The audiobook trick works for me too, except mine's sci-fi series I only touch on walks. Down 29 lbs and honestly the hardest days are when I finish a chapter and want to keep going just to hear what happens next.

The save-one-episode trick is how I got through early walks too, except mine was a baseball podcast I banned from the couch. Only 2 lbs in so far but the walks are honestly the part I look forward to now. Afrobeats is a good call, that stuff works even at slow shuffle pace.

Dnb works for me too, that 170+ bpm stuff basically sets your pace for you. I also save true crime podcasts for walks only so my brain treats it as the listening time, weirdly effective. Down 31 lbs and the playlist really does carry the days the legs don't want to.

Phoenix summers turned my walks into treadmill time, but a drum and bass playlist saved it, the pace kind of happens on its own. I also keep one history podcast gated to walks only, which is the only reason I've hit 10k steps some days. Down 53 lbs and honestly the playlist is half the routine at this point.

Only 3 lbs down on Zep but walking is my whole routine too. I queue up long-form interview podcasts, the two-hour ones, because a good conversation makes miles disappear. As for sleep, mine actually got better once I stopped snacking late, but everyone's different.

Audiobooks work for me too, but I save the cliffhanger chapters for the long route home so I have to keep going. Down 40 lbs and the "one chapter per walk" rule has carried more steps than any playlist ever did. True crime and fantasy series especially, the longer the better.

The cliffhanger trick is smart, I do the same with serialized podcasts. For music I keep a playlist of stuff with a strong beat around 120 bpm, lots of older rock and dance tracks, because it naturally sets my pace and I stop dawdling.

Similar here, 45 lbs in and the walking is what holds it together. I stack true crime audiobooks and save them for walks only, so part of me is always itching to get back out and see what happens next. Fantasy series on longer weekend routes too.

The save-it-for-walks-only rule changed everything for me too, except with a long-running history podcast I refuse to listen to anywhere else. Down 40 lbs myself and honestly the itch to hear the next episode gets me out the door on days nothing else would.

Only 20 lbs in but the walking playlist is already carrying me too. I found a bunch of 90s hip hop does it for me, the beats basically force a faster clip. Might steal the walks-only rule since I burn through episodes too fast at home.

Only a few weeks in myself but I've been rotating drum and bass mixes, the tempo makes slowing down feel weird. Saving new albums for walks only sounds like the trick I need, I binge everything in one sitting at home.
