Injection day means couch and comfort shows for me tonight. What's everyone watching lately?
What's everyone watching tonight?
Injection night is a tv night for me too, I usually end up rewatching the same shows. Been slowly working through Shogun lately and it's perfect for zoning out on the couch. Once the shot side effects hit I don't want anything too intense anyway.
Injection night is the one evening I let myself do a full rewatch of The Office without guilt. After losing 60 lbs I figured I earned some trashy reality TV too, so I've been binging Survivor on the side. Might switch back and forth depending on how the stomach feels tonight.
Shot nights are comfy show nights for me too. I'm deep into a Slow Horses rewatch right now, nothing too heavy on the stomach. Congrats on the 60 by the way, that's where I'm at too and it still feels surreal.
Slow Horses is such a good pick, I blasted through it during a rough patch on my first month or two. At 36 down I've turned injection nights into a bad movie marathon instead, the cheesier the better. Keeps my mind off the stomach grumbles.
Wait, I saw Shrinking after my rough first stretch too, it hits different when you're barely eating. Cheesy movie night sounds like my speed now though, my brain can't handle anything with a plot after the shot.
Shot night for me too, so this thread is perfect timing. Just started Shrinking on a friend's rec and it's been easy watching when the appetite is nil and the couch wins. At 40 down I've decided cozy TV counts as part of the routine now.
Sixty down here and my shot nights are still pure brain-off TV, usually some reality garbage I've seen twice already. Something about the evening just demands zero thinking. Cheesy movie marathon might be the upgrade I need.
Around the same loss as you and my shot nights are exactly the same, comfort food shows minus the food part. Been rerunning The Office for the hundredth time because anything new feels like effort. Might steal the cheesy movie marathon idea for this week.
Injection nights are the one time my brain refuses anything with stakes, so it's been reruns of Parks and Rec for me. Down 36 lbs and honestly the shot evening ritual is half the fun now. Cheesy movie marathon is tempting but I don't trust myself to pick something new that late.
Shot night reruns are basically a universal law in this thread. I'm down about 54 and mine is old Murder She Wrote episodes, zero stakes, perfect pacing for when the energy drops. Maybe we all just outsource the pick-something-new decision to a shared marathon list so nobody's brain has to work.
The shared marathon list idea is exactly right, my tired shot-night brain on 12.5 never survives a browse through Netflix. I'd throw Father Brown into the pot, same zero-stakes cozy mystery energy as Angela Lansbury but nobody's watching it so it feels almost new. Omaha's cold enough right now that a couch marathon basically picks itself anyway.
Father Brown is going on my list, that's exactly the low-effort cozy I need on shot nights. Still early days for me on 0.25 and only down 6 lbs, but the couch-and-reruns ritual is already locked in here in Boise. Parks and Rec reruns might have to make a comeback too.
Down about 37 here and shot night still means comfort TV, some things never change. Monk reruns are my go-to when the energy dips, same vibe as the cozy mysteries everyone's tossing out. Adding Father Brown to the queue before I forget by tomorrow.
Monk and Father Brown both made my list too, glad I scrolled before picking something tonight. Shot nights at 10 have me leaning even harder on the cozy stuff here in Portland, the rain basically demands it. Forty pounds down and the couch ritual is still undefeated.
Only a few weeks in here so I'm stealing all these recs for my first real couch-and-recovery night. Columbo reruns have been my shot evening staple so far, right in the same lane.
Another Columbo fan, that's my shot night pick too and it never gets old. Twenty-nine down here in Toronto and the low-key evening after injecting has become the best part of the routine. Adding Father Brown since apparently half this thread swears by it.
Columbo seems to be the unofficial shot night show of this whole thread, might have to give it a proper run. I've been doing Midsomer Murders on injection evenings, same cozy detective energy, and 32 lbs in it's still part of the ritual I actually look forward to.
Midsomer was my shot night show for months until I finally caved and started Columbo, and I get the hype now. Nothing beats a cozy whodunit and a blanket on injection evening. Congrats on the 32, that ritual clearly agrees with you.
I went the other direction, worked through all of Columbo years ago, so my shot night slot is currently Monk. Same cozy detective vibe if anyone needs a next one after running out of Midsomer.
