I was on semaglutide a while back and let life derail me, so here I am picking this back up. Down about 18 lbs so far and determined to keep the momentum going this time instead of quitting when things got busy. Would love to hear from others who restarted after a break and what helped them stick with it.
Starting again,
Restarted here too after falling off during a rough stretch at work, and what finally clicked for me was prepping my shots like any other appointment instead of treating them as optional. Down 29 lbs since I got back on track with the 2mg. Eighteen lbs already is a great head start this time around.
Restarting was the best thing I did too after I fell off for a while. 18 down says you kept more than you think from round one, at least that's how it worked out for me. Stick around, this crew keeps me honest.
Third restart here myself, and round two taught me the derailment usually comes from one bad week snowballing, so now I get back on plan the very next day instead of writing off the month. You already know what the med does for you, that head start is proof. Welcome back.
Also a restarter here, quit for a few months while moving across the desert and the heat killed my routine entirely. What helped me stick round two was tying my shot to a fixed weekly thing, groceries Sunday, shot Sunday, no negotiating. That 18 lbs still counts, muscle memory is real with this stuff.
Restarted twice myself and the second time stuck because I stopped treating a busy stretch as a reason to bail entirely. Anchoring my shot day to the same weekly errand made it automatic instead of a decision I had to keep remaking. The weight from your first run still counts, I came back 41 down and never regretted the pause.
Restarted after a year off myself and the thing that finally made it stick was exactly what you said, refusing to let busy weeks mean quitting. My first run I lost 25 and gained most of it back, second time I kept a streak calendar on the fridge and just refused to break the chain. Coming back with 18 already gone is a way better position than starting cold.
I set a reminder so I never guess which dose I'm on. Talk it through with your doctor, my plan looked nothing like a friend's.
