Nausea

This is my 5th week with ozempic. It's the second week on the 1 MG dose per week. I have substantial nausea, I have a hard time eating which apparently part of the treatment. Is this normal? On top of it I've lost the same three pounds about three times now!! It's very frustrating!

Ugh, nausea is rough. I had it too when I moved up a dose—took a couple of weeks to settle. And yeah, the scale bouncing around the same two or three pounds is super frustrating but pretty normal for me too. It eventually started moving in the right direction, try not to stress over the day-to-day.

The whoosh of losing and regaining the same few pounds drove me nuts early on too, but zoom out to monthly numbers and the trend was there. Smaller meals and ginger tea got my stomach through the rough stretch after my dose bump. If the nausea keeps you from keeping any food down for days, that'd be worth a call to your doc.

I stopped drinking anything carbonated and the burping calmed down. The reflux flared for about two weeks then just stopped. I keep anti-nausea candies in my bag for rough mornings.

Week 5 was my roughest stretch too, then it eased up once my stomach got used to the higher dose. Small bland meals helped more than trying to force normal food, and those same three pounds finally moved for me around week 6. Worth mentioning to your doctor if the nausea keeps you from keeping anything down, though.
