Can someone please explain the meaning of titration in terms of ozempic? When I look it up all I find is mathematical terms.
Titration
Titration just means gradually stepping your dose up over time instead of starting at the full amount, like how I moved up through the Saxenda pen levels until hitting 3.0. It gives your body a chance to adjust to each step and hopefully fewer rough side effects along the way.
Thank you, I too started off with ,25 ozempic. I'm now at 1 mg.
Basically the pen pens come in steps, 0.25 then 0.5 then 1.0, and each step up is a titration. I climbed the same ladder and found the slower I went, the easier my stomach handled it. Sounds like you're moving through them just fine at 1 mg.
Yeah the word trips people up, I thought it was some lab thing at first too. I stayed on 0.5 way longer than the schedule said because the jumps hit my stomach hard, and 38 lbs later I figure slow worked fine for me.
It just means moving up to the next dose strength over time. I did the same 0.25 to 0.5 to 1 mg climb and only bumped up once the side effects calmed down at each level, which for me took longer than the standard month some steps.
Titration just means the gradual step-ups in dose strength, like going 0.25 to 0.5 to 1 mg. I went slower than the usual schedule at each level and down 27 lbs so far, so taking your time seems to work out fine.
Basically it's just the planned dose step-ups, like 0.25 to 0.5 to 1. I stayed at 0.5 longer than the standard schedule because the higher strength messed with my stomach, and slow still got me down 6 lbs so far.
Titration is just the step-up ladder of dose strengths -- the word comes from chemistry, where it means adding something gradually instead of all at once. Plenty of folks here linger longer on each step before climbing, myself included, and my progress has been steady even though it felt slow at first.
The chemistry origin makes sense since it's literally just adding a little at a time. I sat on 0.5 for extra weeks myself and still ended up down 30 lbs, so no rush needed on the ladder.
It's just the gradual step-ups in dose, like the ladder the others described. I climbed slowly myself, hanging out on lower strengths longer than the schedule suggested, and I'm down 70 lbs now -- slow apparently still counts.
