In Ontario my pharmacy told me last week the 2.5 is back in stock but higher doses still have a waitlist. Curious what others are seeing in BC or Alberta right now.
Watching this from south of the border in Baltimore and it sounds like our 2.5 situation mirrors yours -- easy to get, higher doses scarce. I'm on Saxenda so no personal stake in the shortages, but following in case I ever switch. Hope someone from BC or Alberta chimes in with current stock info.
BC here - my pharmacy said 2.5 is fine but I waited three weeks on 5.0 last month. Down 22 lbs since starting so the wait was worth it, but the low-dose-easy/higher-dose-tough pattern seems to be the same across the border. Anyone in Alberta seeing anything different?
Alberta here and it's the same story - pharmacy had 2.5 sitting on the shelf but I phoned around twice before a 7.5 slot opened up. The shortage below the ladder is clearly not hitting us up top. Congrats on the 22, I'm down 40 myself and every delayed refill has been worth the aggravation.
Ontario matching that pattern too - my pharmacy keeps 2.5 stocked but I had to call three places before finding a 5.0 refill last cycle. Only about 12 lbs in so far but even the refill scavenger hunt beats going back to how I felt before.
US observer here but the same ladder shows up in Rhode Island - plenty of the lower Wegovy pen around while my 0.5 refill took some pharmacy hopping last month. Down about 15 lbs so the scavenger hunt has been worth it for me too.
BC checking in with the same deal - low doses everywhere, higher ones take a few calls. Down 24 myself and honestly the phone tag has become part of my routine at this point.
Alberta same story - my pharmacist told me to call a week early for anything above the starting dose and that's saved me a couple of panics. 17 lbs down here and I'll take a few phone calls over where I was last year.
Ontario here and the week-early call trick has been a lifesaver too - my pharmacy flagged the same thing about higher strengths. 82 lbs down and I'd make ten calls a month if I had to.
Quebec reporting the same pattern with higher strengths, and the call-a-week-early habit has spared me a couple of close calls too. Down 21 myself and I'd way rather spend an afternoon on hold than go back to where I started.
So nice to see a new face, welcome in. Hi and welcome, looking forward to following your journey.
BC here chiming in even though the thread said Canadians - the calling early habit saved me during a shortage stretch last year too. Watching this space in case any of your pricing intel helps those of us paying cash south of the border.
Ontario here, down 56 since last spring and the call-a-week-early trick is basically habit now, pharmacies up here seem to restock in waves so timing matters. Happy to report back if I hear anything on higher strength availability in my area next refill run.
Prairie province here checking in. Pharmacies near me seem to get shipments around the same mid-week window every cycle, so calling a few days early has worked well. Down 14 lbs myself and hoping the higher strengths loosen up soon, will post if my refill run turns up anything.
Quebec checking in, my pharmacy's mid-week restock window matches what the prairie folks described so calling early has become routine for me too. Down 17 lbs so far and still on the lower strengths, curious what turns up on availability when your refill runs happen.
Atlantic Canada here and I see the same mid-week pattern, calling ahead saved me more than once. Down 27 lbs myself, still waiting on the higher strengths to show up consistently anywhere near me.
Ontario here, my pharmacy's shipments land the same mid-week stretch too so I've stopped calling late. Down about 11 lbs and still hunting for the higher doses, will post if my next refill run turns anything up.
BC here and the mid-week thing holds on my end too, calling Monday mornings has been the trick. Higher strengths have been hit or miss at my usual spot so I've had to check a second pharmacy nearby. Down 21 lbs since starting if that helps anyone calibrating.
Prairie here, mid-week holds true for me as well and calling early in the week has paid off more than once. I had to add a second pharmacy too since the higher strengths never seem to stick around at my main one. Down 30 lbs so far if anyone's keeping count.
