The non-photo before/after - todays health markers

Got my labs back this morning and my A1c and cholesterol are both better than they were when I started compounded sema, even before the scale hit 31 lbs down. The nurse practitioner actually said my numbers look like a different person than a year ago. Curious what non-scale wins others have seen in their bloodwork or blood pressure numbers.

That lab progress at 31 lbs down is huge, especially the cholesterol moving too. I'm only about 10 lbs in but my fasting glucose already dropped a few points at my last check, which honestly surprised me this early. Posts like yours make me excited to see what a full year looks like.

My blood pressure was the big one for me, creeping toward pre-hypertension for years and now sitting comfortably normal at 9 lbs down. Funny how the labs move before the mirror does. Congrats on the A1c, that one tends to feel the most real.

My fasting glucose dropped out of the prediabetic range around 35 lbs down and my BP reading at my last checkup was the lowest it's been in a decade. Funny how the labs sometimes move before the mirror does. Congrats on the different-person comment, that's the kind of thing you remember.

Triglycerides flipping back into range is the one I'm still chasing - mine dropped a chunk on tirzepatide but haven't fully normalized yet at 29 lbs down. A1c and cholesterol both improving that fast is awesome, enjoy that appointment high.

At 53 lbs down my fasting glucose finally dropped out of the prediabetic zone after years of hovering right at the line, and my BP med conversation with my doctor got a lot more interesting too. The A1c moving that early is the part I remember best from my own first round of labs - it hit before the scale really showed anything.

29 lbs in myself and my last lipid panel finally flipped my triglycerides back into range, which my doctor had been side-eyeing for years. Wild how the bloodwork tells the story before your pants do.

Only 18 lbs down here so my next draw is still pending, but my last one already showed triglycerides heading the right way, which was the marker I cared about most. Seems like everyone's labs move on their own schedule. Enjoy that A1c win, that's huge this early.

Interesting that you and another poster both saw fasting glucose normalize right around the mid-30s lbs, since I'm at 24 and my last draw still had my glucose creeping along the high side. Triglycerides are the one I'm waiting on too. Helps to hear the labs can shift before the scale catches up.

Down 25 myself and the jeans thing was my favorite surprise too. Curious which markers you saw move at week 2, mine barely budged that early but lipid numbers finally dropped by month three.

31 lbs is solid progress and it makes sense the labs are leading the way, mine did too. I'm only around 17 down but my fasting glucose finally dipped into normal range at my last draw, which honestly felt bigger than the pants milestone. Makes me hopeful the A1c moves for reply three's next one too.

Similar boat at 22 lbs down, my blood pressure was the surprise one, it dropped into normal range for the first time in years before the scale did much. A1c stayed flat on my last draw so hoping it follows yours. Nice to see the internal stuff moving even when the mirror lags.

#13

Love that your NP said you look like a different person on paper. At 58 down my triglycerides and A1c both finally landed in normal range around the six month mark, long before I felt like the mirror caught up. Funny how the labs end up being the real before/after photo.

24 lbs in and my last draw finally showed my LDL coming down for the first time in a while, which I wasn't even expecting to be honest. The labs really do move before the mirror notices. Congrats on the NP actually saying it out loud, that had to feel good.

#15

Congrats, that's a huge win when the bloodwork backs it up before the scale even catches up. My BP came off the borderline range somewhere around 40 lbs down and my NP stopped flagging it entirely. I've started treating my lab printouts as the real progress photos too.

#16

My fasting glucose finally dropped into normal territory around the 50 lb mark, after years of my doctor giving me the "let's keep an eye on this" talk. The lab printouts really are the most satisfying progress pics, even if nobody else gets excited about them.

#17

Congrats on that A1c shift, that's the one I was most nervous about starting out. At 61 lbs down mine finally dropped out of the prediabetic range after hovering there for ages, and my BP meds conversation changed too. Nothing beats a clinician actually sounding surprised at your own chart.

#18

Only 16 lbs down so far but my last lipid panel already looked better than it has in a decade, so I'm with you on the labs being the real before/after. Funny how a printable number from a vial feels more real than any jeans comparison. Keep chasing those marker wins.

28 lbs in and my triglycerides finally stopped scaring my doctor, which honestly felt bigger than the pants size drop. These lab printouts are the only before/after I ever frame.

#20

Barely 7 lbs gone here and my fasting glucose already crept down enough that my doctor stopped mentioning it, so the scale is clearly lagging behind the bloodwork. Love this thread idea way more than side-by-side photos.
