My new pens arrived today and I'm second-guessing whether the fridge door is cold enough, since my last batch seemed fine stored there for weeks. Curious where you all keep yours and if anyone has noticed any difference after a shipment sat in transit a day or two. Down 36 lbs so far and I really don't want to mess this up now.
Storage question - just got a new batch today
Mine live in the main shelf area of the fridge, not the door, since the door gets warm every time it opens. Last batch rode in a hot delivery truck for a full day and worked fine, so a little transit time hasn't been an issue in my experience. Congrats on 36 lbs, that's huge.
I keep mine on the back of a middle shelf too, after realizing the door was getting jostled every time someone grabbed condiments. Had a shipment sit out way longer than I liked in transit once and it still seemed fine, so I wouldn't stress too much. 36 lbs is incredible, congrats!
I moved mine off the door too after reading people say the temp swings there, back of a middle shelf works for me. Mine also rode around in transit longer than I expected and still hit fine, so I'd just get them in the fridge and relax. Congrats on 36, I'm at 11 and can't imagine that far.
Door storage stressed me out too until I moved mine to the back of the bottom shelf where it stays coldest. I had a box arrive warm after a delayed shipment and it still worked, so a day in transit never bothered mine. Congrats on the 36, I'm at 15 and it's already changed everything for me.
I stopped using the door after my pens froze slightly against the back wall once, so now it's middle shelf toward the front where air circulates. One shipment of mine sat in a hot truck overnight and still suppressed my appetite like normal, so transit rarely seems to matter. 15 lbs in and the food noise fading has been the wildest part for me too.
Mine peaked on day two or three after the shot rather than the same day, so don't be surprised if it shifts around. I lived on cottage cheese and jerky those first weeks and the crash got much easier by week four.
Main shelf away from the back wall has been fine for mine, same as you I used to worry the door ran too warm. Mine also came after a couple days in transit and seemed totally normal, so I stopped sweating the shipping part. Seven lbs in myself and the weekend thread about freezer mishaps made me double check mine weren't touching the back.
Middle shelf back when I hit 36 down too, and now at 60 it's been the same spot the whole time, no issues. The door worried me early on as well but the shipments that rode around a couple days never acted any different for me. At your loss so far you clearly haven't messed anything up yet.
The main shelf worked for me too, mine spent two days in a hot truck before arriving and the pens acted no different. Congrats on 28 down, the fact that the last batch kept fine in the door for weeks should tell you how forgiving they are.
Mine live on the middle shelf too, though honestly your door track record already proves they're hardier than we give them credit for. The transit worry faded for me once my second shipment showed up warm after two days and worked the same. Congrats on the 36, that's serious progress.
Mine stayed in the door for months without a problem, and one shipment of mine sat in a warm mailbox overnight and still worked like normal. At 39 down myself, so I get not wanting to risk it, but your own track record is the best reassurance here.
Only 4 lbs in myself so I'm nowhere near your milestone, but mine sit in the door too and one box arrived warm after a shipping delay with zero difference in how they felt. At this point I'd trust what your last few weeks already proved over the worry.
Main shelf for me too, but my door pens never gave me trouble and one of my shipments rode around in transit nearly two days with no change I could feel. At 29 down myself, so I get it, but your last few months went fine for a reason.
Main shelf here in my Tampa kitchen since mine goes with me on business trips sometimes, and even my first batch survived a hot delivery day without acting any different. Down 55 on Mounjaro and honestly the fridge door worry faded for me once I realized how forgiving these have been in my experience. Your 36 lbs says your setup already works.
Mine went through a three-day shipping delay last summer and still hit the same as always, so a little transit warmth never seemed to matter for me. The door worked fine for my first couple months too before I moved them to a shelf, and 13 lbs in I've never had a bad pen yet.
Congrats on 36 down, that's a long runway to protect for sure. Mine stay on the middle shelf too since I'm barely 2 lbs in and still nervous about everything. The transit stories here honestly make me sweat the door position a lot less.
