Todays check-in thread. What's the one thing getting you through this week?
Biggest surprise this week on your journey?
Everyone titrates differently, listen to your own body. Meal-prepping kept me from grazing on bad days. Did you split your dose or take it all at once?
Biggest surprise for me was how quiet food noise got around week three on 0.25. Down 35 lbs since starting, and living in New Orleans with all this food around, that's saying something. Small wins this week: skipped the beignets without even missing them.
The food noise thing is real - mine faded around the same time and it still catches me off guard when I realize I forgot to think about lunch. Down 70-something lbs here and I still get a little win like yours almost weekly. Passing up the pastry case at my own office party last week felt surreal.
The food noise thing is real, mine faded around week four and it still catches me off guard sometimes. Down 23 lbs myself and the weirdest part is realizing I forgot to think about lunch until 2pm. Small wins count, beignet or biscuit.
Food noise fading for me too, though mine still creeps back the last day or two before my shot. Down 52 lbs and the quiet brain is honestly the part I never expected. Energy-wise the walks got way easier once I stopped hauling the extra weight around.
Walking most days alongside the meds really compounds. How's your energy been lately.
The quiet brain was my surprise too, even on 7.5 mine goes radio silent for most of the week now. Down 67 lbs and stairs here in Vegas don't wreck me anymore, which sounds small until it happens.
My quiet brain fades a bit late in the week too, I just plan busier days then. Getting close to your 52 and the stairs at work stopped being an event somewhere in the 30s. Labs were the surprise for me, everything came back better than it had in years.
Down 31 myself and the quiet brain hit me around week six, it was so gradual I didn't notice until I realized I wasn't thinking about lunch all morning. Stairs at the office got way easier too, no more pausing at the top to catch my breath.
Fellow Vegas person here and I felt that stairs comment. My surprise at 0.25 was realizing I stopped eyeballing the fridge out of boredom around day 4. Down 33 lbs so far and the smaller clothes in my closet finally fit again.
The mid-week fade is real for me too, I started stacking errands and chores on those days and it actually helps. Also 45 down here and stairs at the parking garage stopped winding me somewhere in the last 10 lbs. Funny how the small stuff ends up being the big stuff.
The boredom fridge thing hits home, I used to open it just to stand there and now I walk right past. Only about 6 down so far but my surprise is portion sizes, half a normal dinner fills me up and I keep double-checking because it feels wrong. Nice to see the small wins stacking up in here.
The double-checking your plate thing made me laugh because I did the same for weeks, kept thinking I'd under-served myself. My surprise was similar, around 25 down I noticed I actually leave food on the fork when I'm done instead of cleaning the plate out of habit. Still weird in the best way.
Leaving food behind was a huge mental shift for me too, felt wasteful at first but now it's just normal. My weird surprise was restaurants, I order what I always did and take half home, which used to never happen. 45 down and the doggy bag habit might be my favorite side effect so far.
The doggy bag thing is real, I started asking for a box before the meal even arrives now. Down 19 myself and the fridge walk-by still feels like a superpower some days. Funny how the small habits end up being the best part.
Down 33 here and my surprise was realizing I actually taste food more now, slow bites instead of inhaling everything. Also joined the ask-for-the-box-early club, game changer at restaurants. Funny how the leftovers in the fridge stopped calling my name too.
The box-before-the-food trick is spreading through this whole thread, love it. My surprise at around your point was coffee, suddenly one cup was plenty instead of three. Down about 18 myself and the fridge being boring now still throws me off.
Coffee was mine too, went from a pot a day to one mug and it still weirds me out. Down 66 now and the leftovers thing never fully wore off, I still open the fridge sometimes just to marvel that nothing in there is yelling at me.
