I'm a nurse and I want to share a clinical perspective on the GI side effects. What's happening in your gut during the first few weeks is the medication slowing gastric emptying significantly. This is by design — it's the mechanism that creates satiety. The nausea is your body adjusting to this new normal. It gets better as your body adapts.

Just wanted to say, The mental side is harder than people admit. This is huge. I stayed on the starter dose an extra month and it was the right call. So glad I'm not alone in this.

Same here, Batch-cooking high-protein meals saved my willpower. Thanks for sharing this.

Adding my two cents: Just hit my first 20 lbs and I can't believe it. Been there, it does get easier I promise. Sending solidarity, this part is genuinely hard. So glad I'm not alone in this.

Honestly, Been there, it does get easier I promise. Bumped up to the next dose this week and feeling good. Rooting for you. Definitely run it by your own prescriber though.

Coming back to this thread, Everyone titrates differently, listen to your own body. I keep a food and weight log to spot the trends, not the daily noise. Keep us posted!

Scale didn't move but my rings fit again. I keep a food + weight log to spot the trends, not the daily noise. Rooting for you. Definitely run it by your own prescriber though.

Starting the weight-loss log here because I need accountability. Starting weight: 278 lbs. Goal: 195 lbs. Week 1 on 0.25mg semaglutide. No real side effects yet, just a slightly off stomach on injection day. Will update every Monday.

I was terrified of the needle too. Now it takes me about 30 seconds on Sunday mornings.

Solidarity from someone who's been through the exact same thing. You've got this.

Late to this but Did the nausea ease up after the first few weeks for you. Down 3 lbs since my last shot, slow and steady. Thanks for sharing this.

Coming back to this thread — Meal-prepping kept me from grazing on bad days. Ugh I felt exactly the same way at that stage. Plateaus are the worst, hang in there. Onward!

Walking 8k steps a day alongside the meds really compounds. Definitely run it by your own prescriber though.

Late to this but Everyone titrates differently, listen to your own body. The jump to the next dose was smoother than I feared.
