Curious how long Ozempic took to really kick in for people. I'm at week 2 and wondering if my expectations are off.
Switching from Wegovy to something else?
Week 2 is still early in my experience too -- I didn't notice much until I'd been on the 0.5 for a few weeks, and the appetite quieting snuck up gradually rather than hitting all at once. Down about 12 lbs since starting, but most of it came after that first month, so don't sweat the slow start.
Are you tracking protein or just eating intuitively? Has your sleep changed at all since starting?
Appetite suppression took a good 5-6 weeks for me, and honestly week 2 I felt nothing. The bulk of my 82 lb loss came months in, so give it time before judging. Also second the protein question -- keeping that up made the difference for me once it kicked in.
Five weeks was my turning point too, and I'd nearly given up before that. Most of my 24 lbs came after the first month and a half, not before. Protein was the piece I had to get serious about once the appetite finally dropped off.
I was the same at week 2 and figured it wasn't working for me either. Around week 5 or 6 things clicked, and almost all of my 76 lbs came after that point. Getting enough protein in early made the transition way easier once the hunger finally dropped.
I was the same way on the oral version -- basically no effect the first couple weeks, then somewhere around the one month mark the food noise started quieting down. Fifteen pounds in since then, and honestly the slower start made it easier to build decent eating habits before the suppression hit.
Week 2 was a ghost town for me too, then somewhere around week 5 the appetite effect finally showed up. Almost all of my 35 lbs came after that point, so the slow start doesn't mean much. Just hang in there and don't judge it this early.
Week 2 is way too early to judge, appetite changes snuck up on me around week 4 and I've dropped 22 lbs since starting. Don't overthink it yet, the quiet weeks before it kicks in are normal.
Same deal here, nothing happened for me until week 5ish and then the food noise just faded out. Two weeks in I was convinced I'd gotten a dud, glad I stuck with it.
I was on Saxenda and it took me closer to week 3 or 4 before I noticed anything real, so two weeks seems normal to me. Down 62 lbs overall now and the early slow stretch ended up being nothing. Give it a bit more time before deciding it's not working.
Week 6 here and it was the same story, barely noticed anything at 2 weeks then appetite dropped off a cliff around week 5. Sounds like a lot of us had that same slow start, so your timeline looks pretty normal.
Are you working with a dietitian or figuring it out solo? Did switching pharmacies ever cause a gap for you? Proud of you for sharing.
Two weeks was a nothingburger for me too, appetite noise didn't quiet down until maybe week 4, and I'm down 36 lbs since. Early on I kept second-guessing like you are, but the slow start didn't predict anything about how it went long term.
Two weeks was dead quiet for me too and I almost gave up, then the food noise faded somewhere in the week 3-4 range. Down 13 lbs since and honestly the slow start means nothing about where you end up. Hang in there.
Week 2 was also when I was ready to quit, but my appetite shifted around week 4 and I'm down 26 lbs now. Give it a couple more weeks before deciding anything.
Same story here, nothing moved for me until around week 5 and now I'm down 66 lbs. The early quiet stretch fooled me into thinking it wasn't working, but once it clicked it really clicked.
Week 2 was radio silence for me too, then my cravings finally dialed down around week 4 and I'm 22 lbs lighter since. The quiet stretch feels like failure but it's usually just the warmup.
Down 6 myself at the two-week mark and had the same doubts, but threads like this make me less twitchy about it. Sounds like month one is mostly quiet for a lot of folks, so I'm just going to keep at it and see what week 4 brings.
