[Europe] Reflection on my journey

Congrats on coming out of lurk mode, that first post is always the hardest. We're almost at the same milestone, I'm sitting at 38 down around month six myself, so I'm curious about the appetite question too. Mine definitely crept back on the higher dose but nothing like before.

Nice work on 40 down, that's a solid six months. My appetite also crept back a bit once I got higher but keeping protein up made it way more manageable. Out of curiosity, what was the biggest food habit you had to relearn?

Halfway to your 40 and six months of lurking here taught me more than my doctor did, honestly. The food habit question is a good one, I'd add that relearning portion sizes was the hardest part for me even with appetite dialed down. Congrats on posting, 40 in six months is legit.

Congrats on finally posting, 40 in six months is right on pace with how mine went early on. The eating habit nobody warned me about was how long meals take now, I can't finish a plate in one sitting anymore. Curious if you noticed the same on the appetite side when you moved up.

Great result, especially since you spent so long just reading before jumping in. Portion sizes were my biggest hurdle too and I'm only about 13 down so far, so hearing it keeps working past month six is encouraging. Curious what your answer is on the food habit question.

#27

68 down over about a year here, and the slow eating thing never fully went away for me either -- I just split meals into two sittings now and stopped fighting it. What surprised me most past the six month mark was how much of the loss came from the habits sticking rather than the appetite itself. Curious if you found the same.

Five months in and about 35 down myself, so the six month mark you described is exactly where I keep wondering whether things slow down. The split meals trick is interesting, I usually just leave food on the plate and it took a while to stop feeling wasteful about it. What finally pushed you to stop lurking and post?

You should throw yourself a little celebration. You're proof this works. This is what showing up looks like. This helped more than you know. Just one data point, yours might look totally different.

#31

Eight lbs in myself so reading a 40 down post is genuinely motivating. Curious what the slowdown question answer is too, since I'm nowhere near the six month mark yet. Congrats on finally posting instead of lurking.

Congrats on 40 lbs, that's a big stretch of time to stay consistent. I'm only about 6 lbs in so seeing someone six months deep gives me a good picture of what's ahead. Curious if the appetite quieting stayed steady for you the whole way or came and went.

13 lbs in and posts like this keep me grounded about the long game. My appetite quieting definitely comes and goes week to week, so curious if yours was steady too. Congrats on finally de-lurking.
