Type 2 diabetic adding Ozempic — dual purpose journey

T2D starter here too, down 17 so far and the early stretch was when I was checking everything twice a day. Not far enough along to say it runs itself, but the constant mental juggling already eased up a bit around the 15 pound mark. Good to see a whole thread of diabetic-first folks echoing that pattern.

Day five hunger shows up for me too, mostly as cravings for specific stuff rather than actual emptiness. Eating a decent dinner that evening works way better for me than trying to push through. The suppression isn't gone, it just softens by the end of the week.

Day five hunger is real for me too, more cravings than true stomach growling. I plan something filling for those evenings instead of fighting it, and it's been one of the reasons I've kept 76 lbs off this far. The softening seems normal to me, not a sign anything's failing.

T2D was my starting reason too, though I'm on Mounjaro instead of Ozempic. The two-jobs-at-once feeling faded for me around the 30 lb mark on 7.5, once my numbers stabilized enough that I stopped obsessing over every reading. Now the weight side almost feels like the freebie it wasn't when I was doing it alone.

Started for the same reason my doc pushed it, though I'm on Wegovy not Ozempic, and the A1C worry faded once my numbers stopped swinging around month three. Down 48 lbs myself and yeah, the two-jobs feeling gets easier when the readings settle into a routine. Hang in there, 58 is seriously impressive.

Glad you posted this, day four or five is when my cravings kick back in too and I used to panic about it. Now I just plan a bigger dinner those evenings and it passes by injection night. Reading everyone else's losses here makes me think the appetite fade late in the week is just how these meds settle.

Starting for blood sugar too and only a couple pounds gone so far, so the double-duty juggling still feels very real on my end. Hearing that both of you found the readings settled into a routine around the second and third month gives me something to hold onto. 58 lbs is wild, congrats.

Started for T2 as well and I'm moving slower than you at only a couple pounds down, but my fasting numbers smoothed out around month two and that alone keeps me going. The two-jobs-at-once feeling fades once you find a rhythm with meals and testing. 58 lbs after years of struggling is the kind of result that makes the slow starters like me believe it's possible.
