Energy is low today but I still want to move a little. How do you handle the tough days without overdoing it?
Todays walk done - how's everyone's movement?
On low-energy days I cut my usual loop in half and call it a win - some movement beats none, especially at 1.7 where some weeks just hit harder than others. Down 58 lbs and I've learned pushing through a rough day usually backfires for me.
Half the loop is my trick too when the tank is empty. Some days around my shot day I barely make it to the mailbox and that still counts, at least it did over the 24 lbs I'm down. Getting out at all beats white-knuckling a full walk and feeling worse after.
On my rough days I just walk to the end of the street and back, and half the time I end up going longer anyway once I'm moving. Getting down to a lower weight has made the hard days easier but they still show up. Short and slow still counts.
On low energy days I tell myself ten minutes is the whole workout, and usually once I'm moving I go longer anyway. Around shot week I cut my route in half and don't sweat it. Down 36 lbs and the consistency has mattered way more than any single walk.
The half route thing is so real, shot week my legs feel like concrete too. Down 57 lbs myself and the sluggish days I just wander my block slow, counts for something. Streak of small walks beats zero every time.
Half the loop trick saved me plenty of days on my first months at 5 - some shot weeks the legs just feel like lead. I tell myself ten minutes minimum and permission to quit after, and it still added up over the 17 lbs I'm down.
Low energy days I just do my normal loop at a slower pace and call it a win. Shot week especially, half a walk beats skipping entirely for me. Down about 45 lbs and those "weak" walks still count.
I'm only 10 lbs in so still building the habit, but my trick is leaving the watch at home on rough days so I'm not staring at a slow pace the whole time. Slower loop still beats the couch.
Shot week drags for me too even on Victoza, so I've stopped judging the pace entirely. Some days my "walk" is basically a stroll to the end of the street and back, and that still keeps the streak alive.
Down 53 lbs and I've learned the hard way that pushing through shot week fatigue just wrecks the next two days for me. Now I give myself permission to cut the route short if I'm dragging, and weirdly I usually end up going farther once the pressure's off.
Down 57 lbs here and shot week walks are the same story for me - I just tell myself ten minutes counts. Half the time once I'm out there the legs wake up on their own, but if not, short and done beats forcing it.
Shot week used to wreck me too until I started treating movement like a bonus instead of a requirement. Down 68 lbs and I've learned a slow lap around the block on the rough days keeps me from quitting altogether. The energy always comes back by mid-week, no need to grind through it.
On 1.7 now and the day-after-wegovy slump hits me the same way. I started doing my Indy neighborhood loop in reverse on low days - sounds silly but the unfamiliar route keeps my brain from clocking how slow I'm going. Short and done still counts as a win in my book.
I'm only down 12 lbs so far but the low-energy days hit me the same, especially right after my shot. I've started doing a slow stroll with a podcast I only allow myself while walking, so even a short one feels worth it. If my body says stop, I stop and call it a win.
Down 48 lbs here and the shot-day fog still shows up some weeks. I've found a ten minute stretch of yard work or pacing while the coffee brews keeps the habit alive without pretending it's a workout. Rough days are maintenance days, that mindset got me through plenty of them.
Down 45 on the pill version myself, and the low days still come. I keep a rule of just walking to the end of my Indy block and back - usually I keep going once I'm out there, but if not, that's still a done deal.
