UK access check-in today - NHS vs private

NHS wait times update from today. Curious how it compares to what others are experiencing right now.

Two years was about what my area quoted too, so I went private and never looked back. Down 55 lbs since starting, and most of that progress came in the first stretch while the NHS list hadn't even budged. Worth a fresh call to your GP surgery though, some have quietly shortened things recently.

Checked my ICB last month and it was still quoting about two years, so I'm paying private too. Only a few pounds down so far but being on it at all beats another year of waiting in my book.

My area's list was around 18 months when I asked last autumn, so private it was for me too. Been on it about seven months now and the monthly cost stings less than the waiting would have.

Two years on the ICB list is grim, no wonder you went private. I did the same after my local pathway stalled and it's been worth every penny - nearly 50 lbs gone since starting. The early weeks are slow but it picks up.
