Omeprazole for a few days and a big glass of water with a splash of lemon first thing in the morning is what finally broke my worst flare-up. Also swear by not eating within three hours of bed. Hope it passes fast for you.
Sulfur burps SOS - please help
Simethicone after meals was the only thing that got me through my bad stretch around the 20 lb mark. I also found fried or greasy food basically guaranteed a night of them, so I just quit ordering takeout on shot days. Worth experimenting one variable at a time so you know what's actually working.
The only thing that made a dent for me during my worst stretch was cutting way back on greasy food and keeping dinner small and early. Simethicone chewables helped take the edge off the rotten egg taste too. Hang in there, mine faded once my stomach got used to things.
Berberine or a couple of Pepcid AC chewables were what saved me during my rough patch on Saxenda, weirdly enough. Also noticed mine hit hardest when I ate protein too close to the shot, so spacing it out helped. Down 18 lbs so those burps haven't scared me off yet.
Mine got way more bearable once I stopped eating red meat on shot day, that seemed to be my trigger. Smaller dinners helped too, and I've still managed to lose 11 lbs doing it. Hopefully you find your pattern soon, mine definitely eased up over time.
Sounds awful, been there. What helped me was cutting back on sugar and processed stuff entirely, sulfur burps basically vanished once I did that. Ginger chews are worth a shot too if you haven't tried them.
Eggs were my trigger, ironically. Once I dropped them around shot day the sulfur burps mostly stopped. Zofran is what got me through the worst nights before I figured that out, and I'm down 19 lbs so it never slowed the scale either.
Same on Mounjaro, and the burps hit hardest for me when I ate big or late in the day. Probiotic yogurt every morning and avoiding dairy on shot day made a real difference for me, though I still get the occasional eggy one. Mine faded a lot after the first couple months on 12.5, so hang in there.
The burps were brutal for me on Wegovy too until I started eating way smaller dinners and finished eating by early evening. Late heavy meals sitting overnight seemed to be my main trigger. Took a few weeks of trial and error but worth the experimenting.
Simethicone worked for me when nothing else touched them, plus keeping dinner light like the others said. Mine showed up worst the day after my shot, so I started treating that day like a liquid-and-small-meals day and it cut them down a lot. Down 35 lbs with zero impact on progress, so it's worth the fiddling.
Simethicone was my savior too, especially the day after my shot when they were worst. I also noticed cutting way back on anything greasy at dinner made a difference. The eggy burps faded for me around month two, so it does get better.
Only 5 lbs in but the burps hit me hardest early on too. Chewable simethicone plus skipping anything heavy the day after my shot was the combo that finally shut them down for me. They did fade over time, so hang in there.
The greasy dinner connection was real for me too - pizza night always guaranteed a rough next morning. Chewable simethicone kept in my bag got me through the worst stretch on 1mg, and mine mostly quieted down by the two month mark.
