Hydration habits that stuck

Congrats on 26! At 51 lbs down I can say the hydration thing only got more important as I went. I rotate flavors constantly because I burn out fast, but cold water was the real unlock for me too.

42 lbs in and I still rotate between berry and citrus packets because anything gets old fast for me. The pre-meal water trick cut my fake hunger pings way down too, that was the habit that actually stuck.

I'm about 65 lbs down and hydration is still the habit I lean on hardest, mostly because unfiltered hunger cues were my biggest confusion early on. I stopped buying flavored packets altogether at some point and just do ice water with a squeeze of lemon, which somehow never got old for me. Sounds like the rotation approach is the common thread for everyone here.

The spiraling-without-grading thing resonates hard with me. I noticed the old script mostly shows up when I'm tired or stressed, so on rough days I just try to go to bed early instead of wrestling with my head about it. Sleep does half the work my willpower used to try to do.

Congrats on 26, that desk bottle thing worked for me too. I found lime packets survive the flavor fatigue better than any others, everything else ends up tasting like chalk after a few weeks. And yeah, half my "hungry" moments turned out to be just dry.

57 lbs in and I'm still rotating flavors because everything burns out on me eventually except berry, which weirdly never does. The thirst-masquerading-as-hunger thing is so real -- keeping the bottle in my line of sight all day made a bigger difference than any reminder app I tried.

Funny how the old script mostly shows up when I'm running on empty -- at 49 down I finally learned to stop negotiating with my brain at 9pm and just sleep. My version of the one-concrete-step trick is texting myself what tomorrow looks like, so the spiral has nothing to chew on.

Citrus crew here too, though I burned out on those eventually and landed on unflavored electrolyte drops, which somehow never get old. At 74 down I can confirm the hydration-hunger confusion thing only gets more obvious the longer you're on this. The desk bottle trick carried me through the first year before I even thought about flavors.

Congrats on 26 down. I'm only a couple months in at 13 lbs but the desk bottle thing already clicked for me too -- the citrus packets taste like faint disappointment to me so I just do cold brew of plain water with cucumber slices, which has somehow stuck longer than anything flavored. The 9pm brain-negotiation reply is painfully familiar, sleep wins every time now.

The cucumber thing might be the move -- I got halfway through a bulk pack of berry packets before they started tasting like cough syrup, and plain water with ice and a splash of lemon is the only thing that's survived for me. Congrats on 26, and yeah, half my "hunger" turns out to be thirst if I actually check the bottle first.

I cycled through so many packet flavors before realizing simple works best -- ice water with a squeeze of lime has been my daily default for months now. You're right that checking the bottle first before assuming hunger gets easier with practice, and congrats on the 26, that's real progress.

Seven pounds in and I'm already learning the bottle-first rule the hard way. Tried a bunch of those packets early on but they all ended up tasting like vitamins to me, so now it's just ice water and I keep a lime in the fridge. The confusing appetite cues honestly cleared up more from that than anything else so far.

The lime-in-the-fridge trick is smart, way cheaper than burning through packets that end up tasting off. I went the opposite direction and stuck with one citrus flavor for months because changing it up always killed the habit for me. Congrats on the 26, and yes, most of my fake hunger still disappears after a glass of water.

Sticking with one flavor for months is what worked for me too, switching things up always broke the routine. I'm down about 51 lbs and the bottle-before-food check is still the habit I credit most. Citrus everything, apparently it's the flavor that survives the long haul.
