How does it work?

This is very frustrating!! I just started taking medicine 2 weeks ago. I'm assuming I should be taking 5 units. I joined on Embody and really have not gotten any directions. I called them 3x, each time they said a person would call me back but have not so I'm thinking of canceling before I am charged next week. And I've tried to ask specific questions online but all you get are Youtube videos that do not directly answer the question, even though supposedly there are Dr's, assistants, etc,, so I figured maybe a Forum would be more helpful? I just have two questions:

1. What dose should I be starting at?

2, Why am I still so hungry after taking medicine for two weeks? I've been eating a lot and have especially had sweet cravings. I haven't gained any weight but haven't lost either so perhaps the medicine I purchases is fake?

Where do I go from here?

Please advise- Thank you.

Chill, two weeks in is still early -- my appetite suppression didn't really kick in until week 3 or 4 on Ozempic, so don't panic yet. I can't tell you what dose to take since that's between you and whoever prescribed it, but if nobody there has called you back after three tries, I'd be hesitant too. The sugar cravings thing is real for a lot of us early on; mine faded once the med fully kicked in.

I had almost zero effect my first two weeks too, then it hit around week 4 and the food noise quieted down on its own. Worth calling that company one more time before you cancel and saying you want a callback today, not eventually. If they still ghost you, that tells you what you need to know.

Chill, the "5 units" wording makes me wonder if you're using an insulin-style syringe with a vial, which is a totally different measuring situation than a pen -- worth clarifying with a pharmacist or your prescriber before your next shot. For what it's worth I didn't feel anything real until week 5, so two quiet weeks doesn't automatically mean the product is bad. But yeah, if they won't return three calls, I'd be moving on too.

That "5 units" phrasing really does need sorting out before anything else -- I had a similar mix-up early on with a vial and syringe, and getting the measuring straightened out changed everything for me. I'm down 21 lbs now but felt nothing the first couple weeks either, so the hunger alone doesn't mean fake product. If the company won't call back after three tries though, I'd trust my gut on that one.

Thanks everyone. That was so simple and informative. so glad I came to this forum. I called again this morning and was pretty angry but the receptionist was very caring, kind, understanding and calmed me down. She promised I would get a call (So have many others) and made an appt for later. In about 20 mins I get a call from Patient Support and the Dr answered my questions. Says I should be taking "10" units as marked my syringe-not 5. And that may be why I am hungry. I asked since I took 5 units last night (someone said best to take when you can then fast for 12 hours afterward to let medicine work) should I take 5 more tonight? She said no, it may mess you up, just take 10 units next week. And she also said it is normal to feel hungry in the first two weeks. So again, thank you. Look forward to this journey and also reading about every ones experience. Thanks for the support!!!

Glad you got through to an actual human, that call-back runaround is maddening. For what it's worth, I'm on retatrutide and appetite suppression took a few weeks to really kick in for me too, so don't write off the product yet. Once that measuring question is settled you'll probably see things shift.

Glad the appointment finally happened. I had ongoing sweet cravings my first few weeks too and they faded once my dose settled in, still lost about 14 lbs without feeling zero hunger. Keep bugging them until the measuring question is locked down, that's the piece that matters most right now.

Chill, glad the doctor finally called you back. For what it's worth, my appetite suppression didn't fully show up until week 3 or 4, and the sugar cravings were the last thing to fade, so two weeks of hunger doesn't mean your vials are fake. Getting that dose question confirmed by the doc is the right move.

The slow start is normal in my experience too -- cravings hung around my first month and the appetite quieted down gradually after that, and I ended up losing 80+ lbs overall. Sounds like you're doing the right thing waiting for the doc to confirm the dose rather than guessing from videos.

Chill, two weeks of hunger doesn't mean fake meds -- mine took nearly a month before cravings eased and I've dropped 49 lbs since. Definitely get the dose confirmed by that doctor before canceling, since guessing units from forum posts is how people end up more confused than when they started.
