I'm a nurse and I want to share a clinical perspective on the GI side effects. What's happening in your gut during the first few weeks is the medication slowing gastric emptying significantly. This is by design — it's the mechanism that creates satiety. The nausea is your body adjusting to this new normal. It gets better as your body adapts.

Adding my two cents: Sending solidarity, this part is genuinely hard. Did you split your dose or take it all at once. Keep us posted!

Reading this and I split my routine around the shot day now and it helps. Batch-cooking high-protein meals saved my willpower. You've got this. Everyone's different of course.

Honestly, You're not alone in this, so many of us have been there. Been there, it does get easier I promise. You've got this. Everyone's different of course.

Insurance tip: document everything. Every phone call, every denial letter, every appeal. Having a paper trail when you get to the peer-to-peer review stage is critical. Your doctor can reference specific dates and denial reasons.

Totally agree. Consistency with my injection day mattered more than the exact dose. Sending solidarity, this part is genuinely hard. Keep us posted!

For what it's worth, What's your current titration schedule looking like. Are you pairing it with any walking or strength work. So glad I'm not alone in this.

I want to address the elephant in the room with compounded medications because I see a lot of misinformation. Here's what I've researched:
FDA-approved brand-name medications (Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, Zepbound) have full safety data and consistent dosing. Compounded versions can have the same active molecule but variability in concentration, excipients, and sterility practices.
The 503B compounding pharmacies are outsourcing facilities that operate under stricter FDA oversight than standard 503A pharmacies. If you're going the compounded route, 503B is significantly safer.
Always ask for: Certificate of Analysis from a third-party lab, BUD (beyond-use date) documentation, and information about their sterility testing protocols. A reputable pharmacy will answer these questions easily.

Anyone who says GLP-1 is 'the easy way' has never dealt with week 3 nausea.

Six-month check-in thread for anyone who wants to follow along:
Month 1 (0.25mg): Down 11 lbs. Mostly water weight plus the early loss. Nausea was rough days 2-4 after injection but manageable with small meals.
Month 2 (0.5mg): Down 8 more lbs. Found my rhythm. Protein first at every meal. Nausea basically gone by week 6.
Month 3 (0.5mg still): Stall. 3 weeks, scale didn't move. Measurements did. Pushed through.
Month 4 (1mg): Stall broke at the new dose. Down 9 lbs this month.
Month 5 (1mg): Steady loss, 6 lbs. Starting to feel like maintenance territory.
Month 6 (1mg): Current status. Total: -41 lbs. Energy is excellent. Food relationship completely transformed. Would recommend to anyone who qualifies.

Adding my two cents: My doctor had me hold steady until side effects settled. Scale didn't move but my rings fit again. Rooting for you. Definitely run it by your own prescriber though.

Honestly, Protein first at every meal has been my golden rule. What helped you push through the plateau. How are you finding the higher dose so far. Onward! (Not medical advice, just my own experience.)

Adding my two cents: Meal-prepping kept me from grazing on bad days. I plan my meals around shot-day appetite changes now. Maintenance for three months now and holding.
