Switching from Ozempic to something else?

Down 41 on trulicity myself, and the fade thing rings true -- my suppression ebbs and flows too. When mine dulled I leaned harder on protein and smaller windows before touching anything else, and it worked for me. If you do make the jump, sounds like a bumpy first month is the price of admission.

Week 2 at 0.5 is still the ramp-up phase for a lot of people, so a flat scale there was normal in my experience too. Mine didn't really move until the appetite effect kicked in around week 5, then things picked up. Give it more time before worrying about switching.

Week 2 on 0.25 I barely moved either and then the losses kicked in around week 5 without changing anything. Appetite quieted before the scale showed it, so I'd just keep logging and give it more time.

I've been on 2mg for a while now and had the same dulling around the year mark, down 41 myself. Haven't jumped to tirzepatide, but when mine faded I found the hunger came back in waves rather than disappearing for good, so some weeks still feel like the early days. If you do switch, I'd expect a rougher transition than the replies above suggest since you'd be starting a new ramp from scratch.

Down 84 I'd be hesitant to toss what's still working too. My fade came around the 10 month mark and it turned out to be waves, not a permanent death of the appetite effect, so try to sort real tolerance from just a few noisy weeks first.

Only 28 down myself so can't speak to the big-loss side, but I did make the jump to tirzepatide after about a year on semaglutide and the hunger control came back noticeably sharper within a couple weeks. It wasn't magic, progress picked up some but not dramatically, so I'd say set expectations accordingly. For what it's worth my fade on the old stuff also turned out to be partly waves, so I'm glad I sat with it a bit before deciding.

My first month on 0.25 looked basically flat on the scale and I was 14 lbs down before I knew it once things kicked in. Early on my appetite shifted way before the numbers did, so don't panic about week 2. Switching sounds drastic when you're barely started.

I'm only a few months into Wegovy and 21 down, so take this for what it's worth, but my hunger comes and goes in waves too -- some weeks I could eat the fridge, some I forget lunch. The replies here saying the fade might be temporary match my short experience so far. Sounds worth tracking a few more weeks before deciding it's tolerance.

Two weeks in is barely anything, my own scale sat still for a good chunk of the first month before dropping 7 lbs out of nowhere. Switching now seems like quitting before the drug even gets going. I'd give it till at least week 5 and watch whether your appetite's actually changed.

I was in a similar spot after about a year and a half on semaglutide -- the hunger quiet-down faded for me too. Switching to tirzepatide did bring the appetite noise back down and I dropped another 15 or so over the following months, though the first few weeks felt like starting over. For me it was worth it, but I'd say if your suppression is still partly working, riding it out a bit longer is a fair call too.

Down 38 myself and I hit that same wall around month eight on semaglutide -- hunger crept back hard. I ended up switching and the suppression kicked back in within a couple weeks, though I also had to rebuild my dose slowly like a beginner. Given you've lost 84, a restart period might be an easier trade for you than it was for me.

I'm on Trulicity so can't speak to the tirzepatide swap directly, but losing 9 lbs on it has shown me the hunger quiet-down does fade some after a while. Interesting that reply 3 had to rebuild slowly after switching -- that restart learning curve is worth factoring in before deciding, especially since at 84 down you clearly know how to ride out slow stretches.

#33

Only 28 lbs in on my own run but I've read the fade is pretty common once you've been on sema a long stretch, so you're not imagining it. If you do swap, sounds like the slow ramp back up is the real cost to weigh against getting the quiet-down back.
