US insurance here in KC covers my Wegovy at 1.7 but only after a prior auth fight that took weeks, so I get the refill lottery thing. 41 lbs down and honestly the cost per pound keeps feeling more reasonable, which is a weird way to budget. Australia here and I pay a set script price that works out way less than what you're describing for Saxenda, no prior auth nonsense either. Only 6 lbs down so far so my cost-per-pound math is ugly, but I figure the early months are the expensive ones. Indianapolis here on Wegovy and I'm right there with you on the wincing, even with insurance kicking in it's still my biggest monthly line item. 46 lbs down keeps me from quitting but I've stopped pretending the math makes sense on its own. The Australian poster's flat script price honestly made me a little jealous.

Atlanta here on Zepbound and I stopped doing cost-per-pound around month four because it never made me feel better. Insurance covers part of mine but the copay still stings, so hearing how flat the Australia pricing is just rubs salt in it. 49 lbs down is the only math that keeps me refilling.
